Jeff Award-winning actor Stef Tovar has announced the launch of The Route 66 Theatre Company, whose inaugural production will be the Chicago premiere of John Kolvenbach's On An Average Day, August 2-31. Directed by Ron Klier, this production is co-produced with the Vs. Theatre Company of Los Angeles.

The play explores the tension of family dysfunction between two estranged brothers when Jack returns to confront Robert after a long absence. This production will star Tovar (Jack) and Johnny Clark (Robert), reprising their roles from the show's run in Los Angeles at Elephant Theatre Lab.

Tovar's Chicago credits include I Do! I Do!, A Stonecarver, The Threepenny Opera, and Half of Plenty, and his Los Angeles credits include Sunday in the Park with George, The Last Five Years, Floyd Collins, and Evita. The creative team for On An Average Day will include Danny Cistone (set design), Ron Klier (sound design), Jesse Klug (lighting design), and Gelareh Khalloun & Erin Mueller (costume design).
