Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Set to Celebrate Independence Day

By: Tristan Fuge · Jun 27, 2008  · Philadelphia

Peter Nero and the Philly Pops will celebrate America's birthday with POPS on Independence, an annual free concert at Independence Hall, July 3.

The show will feature patriotic anthems, marches, and quintessential big band, Broadway, and film score selections. The event will also include a reading of the Declaration of Independence and historical reenactments of the weddings of Ralph Archbold and Linda Wilde and Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross.

The audience is encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to the lawn of Independence Mall to celebrate.
