Brooks, Cooper, Lenox, Mendes, Steele, et al. to Honor Rashad in Soul Deep

La La Brooks, Chuck Cooper, Lilli Cooper, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Chad Goodwin, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Justin Keyes, Adriane Lenox, Joshua Melvin, Elisabeth Mendes, Maurice Murphy, Harry Thompson, Destan Owens, Shayna Steele, and Sophia Stephens will participate in Soul Deep: An Anthology of Black Music, to be presented at Birdland, Monday August 18 at 7pm.

The event will honor Phylicia Rashad and raise money for Broadway Inspirational Voices. The benefit is produced by Amy Birnbaum and Dominique Sharpton.

Rashad received the Tony Award for A Raisin in the Sun and has starred on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cymbeline, Gem of the Ocean, and Jelly's Last Jam.
