Four-time HBO Def Poet, Kevin Coval, will celebrate the debut of his newest book of poems, Everyday People, July 31 and August 1 at 7:30 pm at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater.

Everyday People will be presented as part of Victory Gardens' new Fresh Squeezed series. The July 31 reading will be hosted by Natalie Moore of Chicago Public Radio, and the August 1 talk-back will be moderated by the Chicago Tribune's Rick Kogan. For $15.00, audience members will receive a CD of Coval performing excerpts from the book with their ticket, and for $25.00, they will receive a copy of the book in addition to the CD.

Coval is the author of Everyday People and Slingshots (a hip-hop poetica), both published by EM Press, and he is the founder of Louder Than A Bomb: The Chicago Teen Poetry Festival, the largest youth poetry festival in the world. Coval can be heard regularly on Chicago Public Radio, where he is resident poet and hip-hop correspondent.
