Synopsis:
This is a deep and surreal absurdist play about the love hate relationship those in servitude feel for those who hold their figurative chains. With parodies of social identity and class The Maids explores the complex layering of masks and identity as it relates to roles within society. The script is roughly based upon the story of a high profile murder case in 1930s France involving two young sisters working as maids and their relationship with their mistress.
